Software ini biasanya digunakan untuk membuat atau mendesain sebuah spanduk, brosur, logo, atau semacamnya. Pada versi terbaru ini, yaitu Adobe Illustrator CS6, terdapat beberapa perubahan yang ada dari versi sebelumnya, seperti penambahan fitur-fitur baru, peningkatan kompatibilatas sistem 64-bit, dan masih banyak lagi.
